Benidorm BEACHES :
Benidorms beaches are justifiably famous and the resort's continuing success owes much to those fabulous golden crescents.
Stretching for a luxuriant six kilometres from Levante Beach in the east to Poniente Beach in the west, consistently high quality blue flag bathing, lifeguard patrols, a wealth of water sports and an impressive approach to cleanliness mean these beaches are among the best in Europe. Each has its own particular character so take your pick
Levante Beach. Benidorm Beaches
This is the sandy holiday hub for those who're out for fun and frolics, and is known as the sunrise beach. In high season it can get pretty crowded, although there are quite literally thousands of sun beds (over 5000 in case you're curious). It's backed by a broad promenade sporting bars and cafes and in short...it's lively!
The beach is sandy and slopes gently into the water which makes for relatively safe bathing for the young or less confident water baby. Further out to sea are swinging bridges, diving boards, rafts, slides, a wet playground for the energetic, and lifeguards are on hand throughout the summer season.
Families are exceptionally well catered for. The children enjoy all day entertainment - which can only be good news for parents. Ever experienced that awful moment when having arranged to meet your kids under the sign up yonder, you realise there's a veritable glut of identical signs? Then you'll be mightily reassured by the Council's initiative which provides huge, colourful picture boards to be used as meeting points. Very helpful to children too - I mean, where are they supposed to go for their next lolly? They knew mum's sunshade was the blue one..like the other few hundred...phew.
Teenagers visit LEVANTE BEACH to enjoy a sandy social vibe, to see and be seen, and to generally have a good time. And the rest? Well, they get a grandstand seat from which to watch the wet set at play. Most impressively, the sand is pristine each morning thanks to a thorough daily clean up.

La Almadrava Beach. Benidorm Beaches - on the Costa Blanca
La Almadrava Beach Natural creek with fine sand and boulders located in a rustic environment at the bottom of Sierra Helada. Its clear waters and rocky sea bottom attract diving keens.
Benidorm Beaches Mal Pas Beach
Mal Pas beach is a small creek with fine and golden sand showing a quieter ambience and dividing the crowed Levante and Poniente beaches is located between Punta Canfali and the port.
Poniente Beach. Benidorm Beaches
Beyond the Old Town, PONIENTE BEACH is to the west of LEVANTE, and comprises a mammoth golden curl of excellent fine sand. Huge! If you don't want quite such a hectic time having fun in the sun this will be your better option as PONIENTE tends to be slightly less crowded.
There's still plenty of facilities close at hand and the inevitable (yet necessary) army of sunbeds, but in general there's a more relaxed and laid back feel here - and a bit more space. Families, young un's and the not-so-young- but-young-at-heart are very well catered for and have all they need to enjoy great swimming (there're no rocks) and sunbathing. Again, the sand is spotlessly clean each morning.
You can even see the tracks where the hoover's been! There's also a treat in store at the end of the day as PONIENTE boasts some great sunsets.
